Wizard - Harry Potter Theme Party Invitation Ideas #1: Visit your local stationery store and check out their selections of wax and wax envelope sealers. These look AMAZING (once you’ve practiced a little with them first) on so many different things – party invitations, thank you cards, old wizard documents, etc. They come in a wide variety of colors for the wax and images for the seals (including letters of the alphabet and images.) When practicing, keep in mind that you typically need to let the wax cool for a couple of seconds BEFORE you press the seal into it (otherwise the hot wax can adhere to the seal.)
Wizard - Harry Potter Theme Party Invitation Ideas #2: Invitations can be rolled up and tied with ribbon, torn material, or (my personal favorite) coarse rope twine.
Purchase a gold leaf pen from your local stationary or craft store. They are only a few dollars but have amazing results. A little gold filled in somewhere on the invitation definitely adds a touch of elegance (without having to pay for embossing at the local printers.)
Wizard - Harry Potter Theme Party Invitation Ideas #3: Envelope antiquing. Once you have your paper, you can take things a step further. Try treating the envelope. You might want to burn a corner off the envelope. These are also a great place to use the wax sealer you bought from the example above.
Wizard - Harry Potter Theme Party Invitation Ideas #4: If particularly ambitious, be creative on how you DELIVER the invitation. Have someone dressed up in Medieval garb or a wizard hand deliver the invitation!
Wizard - Harry Potter Theme Party Invitation Ideas #5: Put all the stamped invitations in a large envelope and mail the package to a different city (i.e. London, Nottingham, etc.) with instructions to mail the letters from their post office. Call in advance first (cities can be searched and found on the Internet) to make sure that they STAMP their mail with their city names. Cities with infamous names such as these get requests like this all the time…don’t be shy.
